For all those new mothers out there with a million things to buy for their newborn, the baby shower is an opportunity for family and friends to offer a bit of assistance. Here are a few baby shower gift ideas to accompany the arrival of a new baby.

~Strollers; mom and dad will need this if they want their new baby to travel with them… which they will so they can visit all their friends and family.

~Baby Monitors; though the sleepless nights won’t end for some time, one of these is essential to keep an eye on the new baby throughout the night.

~Baby Bibs; babies are notoriously messy, so mom will need a lot of these.

~Clothing; you can never have too much clothing for a newborn, especially since they have a tendency to outgrow their old clothing in a few months!

Though most couples think about registering for weddings at department stores and online shopping destinations, it’s also a good idea to register for baby showers in the same manner. If you’re having a baby shower, chances are you have several guests who might all want to purchase the same items. The reason for a baby shower is not only to celebrate the birth of a child, but also to offer the parents some help with all the money they’ll have to spend on their newborn. It’s great to receive useful, unique baby gifts that parents won’t need to return because of duplicates.

Most store locations both throughout the United States and online have registration options for baby showers in addition to weddings.  Remember too, some duplicate items are okay; for example, a newborn can never have too many clothing options!

Supermarkets are havens for germs and disease. That’s not to say that the foods we purchase there are unsafe – to the contrary, most packaged foods are sealed to ensure freshness. And produce should always undergo a thorough rinse at home before you eat it. No, it’s not the food in the supermarket that’s unsanitary; it’s the surfaces. Shopping cart covers help to protect young children from the effects of these filthy common items. It’s unpleasant to contemplate, but the previous user of your shopping cart may not have washed his or her hands all day. Being single doesn’t mean you are exempted from knowing what’s best to give a soon-to-be-mom. It’s not hard to find a nice baby shower gift. Simply think of things that a new mom would need to take care of her baby better. You can also ask around for tips on the best items a newborn needs.There are lots of online sites where you can browse for gift ideas. Some websites even specialize on items for babies and kids. Read each description carefully and follow your instincts on what would seem to be the best pieces that will be appreciated the most by the recipient mom.

It has finally come to pass and I can’t believe it.  My best friend’s baby shower is here.  After all of these years of talking about it and making bets about who would get pregnant first, it was Sarah. 

Everyone knew that it would be Sarah, except for Sarah.  Albert has been there for her for over four years now and it was bound to happen.  I want to get her some useful baby shower gifts so that she will have a good starting point for her daughter when she arrives.  I am so happy to be an auntie.

Found this really cool bib demo on this bib showing how it works around the baby’s neck. This bib is really easy to use and comfortable on him. Other bibs I have tried either they pinched his neck or they just came off.
